Resort and area
Do you have a restaurant nearby? Due to insufficient amount of daily orders we were forced to close our cafe, now it can be rented as a party room.
Is the lake suitable for swimming? Yes, Golden Lake is big and clear. We have a nice sandy beach in front of cottage #6 that is suitable for families with children. On the northern peninsula we have a nice sandy beach with a deeper lake entrance and good conditions for adult swimming.
Are there any hiking trails on the resort? We hope to complete a small hiking trail through 70 acres of our property in 2014. At the moment you can enjoy trails in nearby provincial parks (Algonquin and Bonnechere) that are located 30-40 minutes from our resort. For short walks we have a couple miles of roads around the cottages on Golden Lake.
To rent or not to rent?
Should we rent your cottages? We are a new, family managed cottage establishment, ideal for families and couples. Visitors to our place enjoy their vacations at our peaceful spot of paradise (please check reviews). We care about the comfort of all our guests and do not promote noisy parties. If you are interested in a party you can rent all cottages or the full camp to avoid interactions with other guests.
Are the cottages really comfortable? Although construction was completed in 2012, there is always room for improvement. We continue to provide upgrades, as necessary and are doing our best to fix any inconveniences. We keep trying to provide as much as we can, but you should keep in mind that this is small family owned business, cottages are self-catered and do not provide a full comfort of home stay. People come to enjoy lakeside vacation and spend time outside BBQing, swimming and walking, cottages provide fairly comfortable stay. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you need to realize if our place is for you.
What are the major complaints about the cottages? The only problem we cannot fix is the size of the water tanks (10 gallons) in the cottages. If this is a critical issue for you, you may not want to rent the cottage. We have had complaints about lack of shelving and insufficient attention to details however, we have been working to correct these issues.
